Even for those who never read a comic.
I have never held in my hands a comic made by DC or Marvel, I've never viewed a page of a book made by Grant Morrisian or other artists, the only comics I've ever gotten near are hentai and a graphic novel or two. The only thing drawing me to this podcast was Ryan Higgins and Brock. After 29 episodes I am glad to have listened as I have gained insight into a new media and have begun to expand my horizens with an understanding of comics. Though every show starts and ends rockily it never seems to get old when Ryan messes up and Brock teases him about it. The chemistry between the two hosts is there and they both bounce off each other well. The only dull moment in the show is if they start going off the deep end debating details of a comic against each other. On the other hand these are also some of the more interesting parts as they lead to a brief glimpse of that "whose the top nerd." Which can end to either Brock being right, Ryan Higgins looking it up, or Ryan Scott quoting himself. ( Wikipedia article from the Suicide Squad Special.) If expanding your horizens, learning about an old media and it's change to digital, listening to two charismatic hosts, or nerdy debating isn't your cup of tea then I'd sugest hitting up the partent podcast, The Geekbox, as it will lend you a more diverse and wider array of experiences not usually seen on the Comic Conspiracy. But for what this podcast is it does it well and does it entertainingly. I give this podcast five stars, overlooking it's mistakes and flaws, for the brilliance in its conversations and discussions. Also I give it five stas for the great charismatic hosts that turn what could be a boring show about the comic industy into an entertaining half hour to two hour episodes that keep you cominc back each week.Read full review »

Found this podcast through the Geekbox empire of podcasts. And very happy to of given it a chance. The hosts are all knowledgable and more importantly can speak eloquently on the subject. The chemistry and banter is amazing and has really hit a stride. 5 stars

They have a decent formula and talk extensively about all kids of pop culture for superheroes and scifi/fantasy. The problem ive got is the sheer negativity of these guys. There's very little celebration outside their biases for certain publishers or characters. Their criticisms aren't...Read full review »
