A Perfect Blend of Comedy, (Somewhat) Narrative and Form
The concept and form of this series is perfect. The idea is made even better by the fact that each episode is short. Amanda obviously sees the value in the idea of squeezing the comedic juice out of each morsel and not letting any episode get overly bloated. Both the (seemingly) scripted and (seemingly) improvised bits are enjoyable. The fact that each six-part series seems to have a through-line joke (going increasingly insane in the first, the singing bit in Complete Joy, the poetry/repression bit in Matt's Complete Man season) makes me so excited to see each series through to its end (I've yet to listen to the Wedding and Christmas series). I love that Amanda has forged this opportunity to put her voice out there like this; it's excellent!Read full review »
