Whether it’s from childhood abandonment, rejection, or feeling unworthy, many of us carry unresolved pain that drives us to seek validation through being selected by a partner. This unconscious desire to be chosen often leads to unhealthy dynamics, where we sacrifice our needs or stay in unfulfilling relationships out of fear of rejection or being alone. We’ll explore how these early wounds, often tied to mother or father wounds, create a cycle of approval-seeking behavior. Instead of choosing relationships based on mutual respect, growth, and shared values, we end up prioritizing external validation. This need to be chosen reinforces the idea that love is something earned, rather than something we consciously choose and co-create. Through healing these core wounds and embracing self-worth, we can begin to reclaim our power in relationships. We’ll discuss how developing self-awareness and practicing self-love allows us to let go of the need for external approval and make intentional, conscious choices in love. By choosing from a place of wholeness and authenticity, we can attract healthier, more balanced relationships that nurture personal growth and connection.
