Description
The King welcomes James Pethokoukis to discuss his new book, The Conservative Futurist: How to Create the Sci-Fi World We Were Promised. America used to be a land of big dreams and bigger accomplishments. But as we moved into the late 20th century, we grew cautious, even cynical, about the future and our ability to shape it. Too many of us saw only the threats from rapid change and not the many benefits. James argues we can turn things around—if we, the people, choose to dream and act. Jim is a senior fellow and the DeWitt Wallace Chair at the American Enterprise Institute, writing on their website and in his "Faster, Please!" Substack newsletter. You'll also see him regularly on CNBC and elsewhere. After the interview, Jon shares a few thoughts about Thanksgiving. Subscribe to the King of Stuff Spotify playlist featuring picks from the show.
