Great podcast. The emphasis on the experience of playing games, rather than the games themselves, is very welcome. Pip is particular delight.

The Rock Paper Shotgun Team drink rum and talk videogames. A winning combo.

Professional PC gaming journalists talk about stuff - and PC games. This is even better than the PC Gamer Podcast: they really do know their stuff, they say it well, and they are less restrained by company guidelines.

Consistent, high quality, good people, funny (but not too much), and generally perfect for listening to when making dinner ! A great listen if you want to keep up to date with gaming news. Will always be subscribed :)

I’ve supported c&c via patreon. I can’t any longer. Pip is unlistenably bad. She clearly does not enjoy the act of speaking about games and prefers to blab on about anything on her mind that isn't games. She seems actively hostile to her boyfriend who hosts the show. I know this could seem like...Read full review »

I really looks forward to listening to this podcast. I’m a game developer, and this is the only gaming podcast I’ve found that I like so far. It’s really funny - I find myself laughing out loud often. From the game dev side: the in depth way they talk about game mechanics as well as having a...Read full review »

Genuinely very thoughtful game discussion in a way that isn’t just regurgitating whatever argument people on Twitter are having this week. Smart and funny and occasionally very drunk. I know it’s a PC game focussed podcast but wish they would give themselves the option to discuss non-PC a little...Read full review »

I've been listening since before this podcast started, via the old uk pcgamer podcast, it's really good, and occassionally features entertaining amounts of drunkeness

My favorite podcast, and I don't even play PC games. Funny, smart, and insightful discussion about a whole range of topics. I look forward to their updates every week.

Most knowledgeable PC gaming types meet regularly at the Crate and Crow, a pub on Hemwick Charnel Lane in Bath, England, for drinks, toast and great conversation

It's a funny and insightful podcast about PC games and the dangers of drinking alcohol while hosting a podcast.

Do you like podcasts? Do you like PC games? Do you like deep and thought provoking discussions of whether a rat is indeed the opposite of a wasp? If you answered YES! to any of the above, welcome to your new favourite podcast. Funny and intelligent discussion of video games and their assorted...Read full review »

It's is genuinely funny and helpful. All of these guys have college degrees that make them outstanding. I.e. standing out of the crowd of semi-literate giggling teenagers that fill up the gaming podcast scene.

Goes off-piste quite often but that's part of the charm!

The camaraderie on display at the crate and crowbar, along with the Bantz n tangents (usually guided beautifully by Pip who tends to steal the show when she's on) is what keeps me coming back. The guests are always interesting, offering great insight and alternate outlooks, the regulars are like...Read full review »

A good podcast about PC games. The hosts are insightful, funny and friendly. Listener mail is taken at the end of the podcast while the hosts are a bit squiffy so sometimes it devolves into a very amusing comedy of errors. Thans.

If you have any interest in PC gaming, i urge you to give this podcast a listen. I love Tom. Pip is the sexy voice like Miff on Triple J and Chris is ok too. I mean he has a beard, which makes me accept his high intelligence more. Seriously great show though. Love the minatures pod cast Chris and the nicest man in the world (Tom) do to.

I was inspired to write this review after noticing the injustice of C&C ranking only 132 in the Games category of iTunes. Long-time listener of the PC Gamer podcast, now weekly (it not daily) listener of the Crate and Crowbar - the funniest and most entertaining games podcast I've listened to.

A nice bunch of lads. C&C is the best games pod I've heard but they really need to improve their audio quality.

These guys really know what they're talking about. They don't just talk about new games, but all games. They're knowledge is fantastic, coupled with brilliant dry wit. If you're interested in gaming, game design, programming, or just want a laugh, check these guys out!
Davesuffolk via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/25/15
Easily my favourite gaming podcast. The hosts are all friends outside the podcast and it comes across. They sit down to cover what they're playing and what's happening in the industry that interests them. The hosts enjoy making the podcast which makes it that much better to listen to.

I can’t decide between this and idle thumbs so I won’t they’re both my favourite.
Razuki11 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/15/15
This is a great podcast with hilarious people, that you should watch if you like sausages, drinking, and PC gaming. However, I have been working back through the episodes, and they only have down to 32 on itunes here. It would be awesome to fix that, but not a necessity.
coolwithpie via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/26/14
All the hosts mumble incoherently, it's often very difficult to even know what game they are talking about. On top of that, there is often an ear-piercing sound of drinks pouring that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

Loved these guys on the PC Gamer cast, love them even more here. Great conversations abound: from the deeply mechanical to the irreverent and fanciful, C&C runs the gamut. The highlight of my podcast rotation!
youmeyou via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/03/13
I love listening to these guys banter every week, even if I'll probably never play some of the games they talk about. It's nice that they have the freedom to discuss games instead of being more restricted like they probably were on the PCG UK podcast.
John Durant via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/16/13
Dropping the PC gamer UK podcast was such a big loss so it's really great to know they're going to keep making media this way instead.
