“This is by far one of the strongest, most engaging podcasts about video games you can download. Comprised of current and former PC Gamer (UK) staff, the Crate and Crowbar team provides informal but informative discussions about the play, design, and philosophy of recent and up-coming titles. Though light-hearted and irreverent at times, these podcasters always approach the subject of video games from a perspective of respect, enjoyment, and none-too-infrequent awe.
Not only do I have these gentlemen to thank for introducing me to several amazing games I might have otherwise missed, but podcasts like this one also provided motivation (and knowledge) in my pursuit of a career in the games industry.
For extra entertainment (and frequent inspiration), check out the older (now defunct) PC Gamer (UK) podcast. The games discussed may be old news now, but the insight and perceptiveness present in this material should not be missed by anyone with a serious interest in video games.
Plus, fun accents.
