“I heard about Stephen Gates from a co-worker who attended his Adode Max 2016 presentation, "Success is a Choice". After several months of it sitting in my inbox, I finally decided to listen to it and was immediately blown away.
I run a team of graphic designers, and while I'm not a designer, I originally thought this podcast would help me better understand my team how to better guide them. Quickly, it became clear that the topics Stephen covers transcendes design to other aspects of business. Even episode 9, which he gave non-creatives like myself the "week off", was of value. I'm now going back to the episodes I orginally skipped to listen to them all. There hasn't been one that I haven't found insightful.
His topics on design are insightful and relatable but I continue listening to him for the topics on leadership, personal brand, career development and running a team. Favorite episodes have been episode 21: success is a choice, episode 17 on hiring and episodes 6-8 on personal brand. He's full of stories and experience and I get tremendous value hearing those stores to back up his point.
