Long time listener disappointed about antisemitism
I was really disappointed in the antisemitism expressed in the episode with Leandra Medine. Yes, Leandra was awful, but someone's individual character never grants the bashing of an entire persecuted community. I'm a long time listener and really enjoyed this podcast - I will be giving it a miss for now. I thought it was ironic that Recho joked about getting cancelled - that comment wasn't specific to antisemitism, but it showed a type of entitlement to ignorance, masquerading as confidence. She made it seem like she has chosen her stance and sees those victimised by her as childish "snowflakes". She used common white-suppremacist tropes and made very generalised statements about the stereotyped appearances of Jewish people. This has now been removed from the episode. I hope she looks into why race and persecution go deeper than appearance... I am glad she apologised but am not convinced this will inherently change her opinion or lead her to look into the disgusting history surrounding antisemitism. Please do better and please also come off your high horse about cancel culture - no, it does not really exist, because people abusing power can continue to go about life largely unscathed, but you could humble yourself and be more careful and accountable in what you say. I do plan to come back if things get sorted, as I did enjoy this podcast!Read full review »

I guess I believe empathy is the path to take with our fellow travelers of this world. Her anger is...Read full review »

I got this 💯! Mine is first experience. Being left out of certain things is real and the protest ally was all performance.

While Leandra may be a little tone deaf in this interview, the host’s side commentary is hateful. If your only intention is to tear down the people you interview why even bother. For a podcast that hails itself for being inclusive and about intersectionality, it seems you have left no space for...Read full review »
