2.5 stars - problematic, but worth my time
I'm quite on the left. No, VERY on the left. But I'm complicated, I'm radically like the ACLU when it comes to certain issues like free speech. So I have a love/hate relationship with this podcast and its host. At the end of the day, I listen to this to know 'what the other side is saying', and to keep open-minded. If we're only ever in silos, then we're not part of the solution. Having said that, the host of this podcast to me comes across as arrogant, unempathetic, and truly representing everything I hate about the right: a smug defender of power and profit, and arrogant disdainer of equality and justice. Stewart is the model of civil a debater. You can tell who he agrees with and who he does not but the show does not degrade to the common form of pundits talking past each other. I doubt his mind is changed often, but respecting and comprehending his opponents points provides a rich conversation.
