meandering and highly disappointing
When I found this podcast I was overjoyed to see that someone was taking the time to overview my favorite band. But this podcast is overblown, highly undisciplined, meandering and barely listenable. The hosts go on long (and I mean extremely long!) tangents off topic, and bring little to the table in the way of both experience and knowledge of Radiohead and/or musical appreciation as a whole. Both hosts are obviously fairly young and did not even experience or discover the band until well after they were in their late 90's/early 00's heyday. And both seem to come from very similar (and limited) musical tastes which makes their discussions very redundant most of the time. They constantly draw comparisons and the same few artists, without any broader comparisons to music study as a whole. Neither seems capable of keeping focus on anything longer than 5 minutes either, as sometimes discussions will ramble on and on and on so far off topic that they literally forget what they were discussing in the first place. Take your ritalin. Host Anne seems to do a small amount of preparation occasionally, so she does bring a shred of insight now and then, but not as often as you might hope, unfortunately. Ben only seems interested in espousing his uninsightful opinions and insulting every other artist except the small handful of artists he finds interesting. He is constantly mansplaining both to Anne and the audience, and is one of those types of people who truly believes his opinions are gospel and I find him to be especially grating. My advice if they want this podcast to become listenable would be to Anne, since she is the only one who seems interested in doing anything beyond the bare minimum... Dump Ben as a co-host, find someone who has a much different perspective than yourself on Radiohead, and life in general. Preferably someone who has followed the band since their earlier days, and will help keep the focus as well. Because listening to a couple millennials just blah blah on a meandering tangent filled conversation for hours and hours does this amazing band a disservice, not a favor.Read full review »

This is an outstanding podcast! Kudos to the hosts for their thoughtful, in-depth analyses and scope of knowledge about the art and history of Radiohead. They tackle the Holy Grail of Radiohead with clearly off-the-charts passion balanced by quick humor and gratifying intelligence. Congratulations!
