The daily refilling of my passion bucket
Don't call it a comeback, cause he was never gone. Dan Patrick left a huge void in the sports talk radio world when he left ESPN. Gone was the velvety smooth voice, the one voice that wasn't screaming his opinion. Seriously, check out most sports talk on radio & TV and see if you can find someone else who isn't yelling the whole time. When I first listened to his new show, I have to admit, I was baffled at how much air time Paul and Seton got. Turns out, they are the perfect foils for Dan. Add in a dash of Fritzy and McLovin, and you've got yourself something unique. His willingness to share the spotlight with those who would be considered underlings everywhere else makes for a much richer show. Dan switches effortlessly between the role of self-deprecating has been, creepy uncle and cooler older brother you want to emulate. You learn things, you laugh and you're thoroughly entertained with no commercials for 2 1/2 hours. It will never get better than this. Unless they add an extra hour, without Kathie Lee and Hoda of course. My only wish is a weekly visit by Olbermann. Can you imagine? No wonder everybody wants to have post show beers with these guys, you can't get enough. Much love to Chris in Syracuse.Read full review »
