June 7, 2022 Episode: Why wasn’t the Nova Scotia shooter stopped by police sooner
Menaka and Greg should watch Tim Sebastian on DW’s Conflict Zone for tips on how to conduct more hard hitting reportage. What happened in Nova Scotia is a scandal, or should be. Police probably couldn’t have done anything for the victims the night the gunman began his rampage, but the nine killed the next morning could have been warned to shelter in place. Of course, the RCMP members made sure their own loved ones remained safe. Where is the outrage? And Menaka and Greg are talking about this in the same tone I’d use to discuss a missing puppy. The third estate should focus on informing and bringing change re: issues that affect us. What affects Canadians more than police who haven’t done the job of serving and protecting, and are now trying to spin their way out of this muck up? (That’s a deliberate misspelling).

Love the podcast, but wanted to leave a comment about the episode on Putin and the threat of nuclear war: the pronunciation “nu-cu-lar” by the host is extremely grating. Especially when the guest keeps saying it correctly.
