“I agree with some other reviews that these guys come off as overly enthusiastic. It's annoying when they act like each guest is speaking some amazing truth. It seems like they want different perspectives represented by the guests that they interview, but then they pretend to agree with every single guest and say every guest's book is the best thing ever. For example, sure interview Tim Keller if you want, but don't feel obligated to affirm his views or find common ground. That's the opposite of deconstruction. I also dislike the dialogue between themselves that they record before and after the interview, so I always fast forward those parts. When they interview guests, it feels overly scripted and too focused on the books instead of the person. It's almost like they're trying to show off how well read they are.
Given all of that, I continue to listen because of the topics they are addressing, and also the guests they are interviewing. I like the premise of deconstruction and hope they are able to pursue that more through their interviews. I don't listen to every single interview, but have gotten a lot out of some of them.”Read full review »

“The best thing about this podcast are the guests they bring in. The enthusiasm feels over the top to me. And I find their vibe to be quite churchy/preachy more often than not. But still four stars. Because great guests. And because they're adding their voices to an important conversation.”Read full review »
