As others have said, I want to like this...
...but I just can't. There have been some wonderful guests on the show so far, but their words are covered over by the hosts shouting their agreement every other sentence. There's a very real lack of diversity here: streams of thought, gender, race, stage of life, etc. it's enormously weighted towards white men in their 20's-30's. It's genuinely frustrating to listen to all of the groans of confirmation bias inspired support. I've also grown weary of hearing what should be a deep or unsettling statement from a guest referred to as "good juice." Hosts: I have no problem with you guys enjoying what you do and being yourselves, but if your goal is to create a safe space it needs to be as distraction free as possible. The way you carry yourselves on air right now is the main thing wrong with the podcast. At times the guests even get uncomfortable with how over-eager you are to affirm and agree. The Rob Bell episode is a painfully obvious example of this. I'm going to stay subscribed to see what other guests come on, but it will be awhile until I give this another shot. Hopefully a more thoughtful dialogue is what I find.Read full review »
