Entertaining..big on theories/light on facts
Entertaining for sure but lots of conjecture and theories flying. For example, the prevailing theme throughout that Tommy was saturated with Catholicism causing him to choose Satanism because of catholic school instruction all day and CCD on the weekend, which isn’t how it works. There sounds like a lot more going on the the kid that is much more complex then too much church. And the sound effects seem a bit....much? Dramatic for sure.

More reviews of The Devil Within
So far it is well-told and interesting. But the music makes it almost unlistenable.

Between the continuous background sound that doesn't always fit and becomes very obvious very quickly and the sensational language and emphasis, this is just way overdone. Feels way less factual and more old radio entertainment.Read full review »

If you are into satanic panic and such this might be your thing but for me it was a disappointment. Not true crime just occult folk tales. I’d be far more interested in a deep dive of the evidence. I’m not entirely convinced Tommy committed suicide. On the other hand, the writing is excellent.
