Good content, but a little insensitive
I listen to another Disney podcast that recommended listening to this podcast (love that!) so I listened to the Dis Unplugged for the first time this morning. The episode was about the new Galaxy’s Edge and how there was a lot of anticipation about the land. Exciting stuff! But what really turned me off was the host of the show sort of mocking another host about staying in good neighbor hotels versus on-site. As someone who has never stayed in an on-site hotel due to finances (mind you, I go to Disneyland every year), I was pretty offended at his tone of voice in saying that it’s the better option. Not all of us can afford $200+ night stays in hotels. I’m more than happy to spend $100 a night at a sufficient hotel. Besides, I’m at the park the entire day; I literally just need a bed to sleep on. Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford the Disneyland hotel, but until then, I think it’s important to recognize that not everyone has the opportunity to stay at the resort in order to make their trip “better.”

I started listening to these guys when I began planning a trip to Disneyland. That was more than a year ago, but I continue to tune in each week. I used all of the advice from the podcast and we had a terrific time. I love hearing about the west coast events.

I can’t help thinking that Pete Werner is Ursula from The Little Mermaid. “You poor unfortunate souls”😂 He reminds me of her in so many ways!

As a Disneyland fan, this remains one of the best podcasts available to learn about new things and get an insider’s view of the park. Still getting used to the new format, and have a friendly suggestion for the hosts - with more comparisons and references to Walt Disney World, it can be difficult...Read full review »
