“From the perspective of a foster-mom who loves her 2 girls, this breaks my heart, and angers me simultaneously. It's so hard putting in the time and the hugs— trying to manage the misplaced anger and their relationship with each other and missing their parents or dissappointment when their parents don't show up for visits, but you'll never be a "real mom." It's so hard answering questions about their parents without throwing shade. It's so hard being the one who's there for them day in and day out but not being mommy. My mom didn't love me more than her next drink, which killed her when I was 12 and now I'll never have a mother-daughter relationship because my kids will always cling to the idea of the mom who couldn't give up drugs to be with them. Listening to this I hope to gain some perspective on how to at least make their lives somewhat comfortable and give them hope for the bright future they deserve..”Read full review »
