Brazil had 5 of the top 6 surfers on the men's Challenger Series this year and 6 in the top 10. As a result, they'll have 11 surfers on the CT in 2025, which is nearly one-third of the tour. However, Brazilians often fall off the CT only to requalify again the next year, reducing the amount of would-be rookies joining the tour. Why is this, and what does it mean for surfing?
