“Well this is a subject I never thought I would listen to as it's something I've never really had an interest in. But due to some podcasts ending I had an need for something new and by pure chance Kristaps was on the lesser Bonapartes podcast that week so I thought I would give it a try. Don't be put off if you don't like the more humorous take on history the lesser Bonapartes guys give you as Kristaps gives you a very well presented and respectful coverage of the subject. And as he has lived through some of the subject matter and also gives you accounts from family and friends that experienced this period it feels more personal. The early episodes are a bit rough around the edges as they are learning on the job like most other podcasts(anyone that listened to early episodes of Mike Duncan's history of Rome and it's quality is poor compared to later ones) and it improves quickly. So even if it's not a subject you're sure about, give it a listen it's a fascinating slice of what was a hidden world to people like me growing up in the west.”Read full review »
