This is a very partisan view of the USSR, but the podcaster justifies his perspective with loads of primary sources and layered secondary materials. The Eastern Border is everything a good podcast should be – engaging, detailed, informative and, quite often, very funny. Great stuff!

Love this podcast. It gives a very human perspective on how and why things were in ussr without getting political. The Armenian radio jokes are a welcome delight!

I needed something other than rolling sports radio to listen at work. Found this podcast. Kristaps work in telling the story of the USSR of someone who actually lives in the region is amazing, interesting, sometimes fun, sometimes sad but always informative. Highly recommended
