A topic dear to my heart. The audio quality and organization is complete crap at the beginning but improves gradually. Worth listening to if you're interested in hearing a unique opinion on the USSR. But! Please keep in mind that the creator of this podcast presents a limited view, to put it politely. Also remember that all of his stories and anecdotes are, at best, secondhand. He is very anti-Russia. No, wait, I mean anti-USSR; he seems to forget which is which on a regular basis. As you can doubtlessly tell, I find that, and several other statements he makes, very offensive. (That I am offended despite having strong negative opinions of the current regime in Russia and having left the country over two decades ago...) Listen, but also think, and remember that every story has at least three sides.Read full review »

This is an excellent, well researched and presented podcast on the former Soviet Union from the perspective of a Latvian. I'm enjoying listening to each episode and I eagerly await the arrival of each new one. Give it a listen, you will also love it.Read full review »
