Bad faith interview style
I cannot get my head around Anne McElvoy’s interview style. She constantly interrupts and repeatedly tries to play devil’s advocate with bad faith arguments. Often you can hear the guests getting frustrated and one can’t help but feel a better interviewer would get more from them. The guests are often great but I regularly find myself having to switch off because a smug interviewer is trying to hit them with a ‘gotcha’ comment that doesn’t land in the slightest.
