Description
E462: Forbes Marketplace, a third-party managed platform under the Forbes URL, has been spamming SEO - making up for over 50% of Forbes’ revenue.
Forbes’ Marketplace is entirely lazy affiliate articles targeting a variety of keywords unrelated to Forbes’ typical topics.
Even worse, these articles lack Forbes’ oversight and exist only to manipulate search rankings.
This is a massive violation of Google's Site Reputation Abuse Policy, and Forbes is paying the price.
They’ve been hit with a severe manual penalty.
But it didn’t have to go this way. This is where Forbes went wrong and how this could have been avoided while still making absurd amounts of money.
