“I really like your topics, and I appreciate your drive to do this, but please get an editor of some sort. I’ve only listened to your first Francis Drake episode, and despite my relative ignorance, I’ve heard you incorrectly say that Cartagena is “in modern day Venezuela,” and later follow that up with the impossible statement that “the Judith made it back to England sometime between December 1566 and January 1569, I’ve seen both dates.” Obviously, everyone with a map knows that Cartagena is in Colombia. And did you even listen to yourself on the second one - why would anyone editing their podcast think that late 1566 versus early 1569 was a correct date range for a ship returning to port? A quick Wikipedia search answers the question - you meant to say late 1568 or early 1569. That’s just sloppy.
I like your presentation, but when I here ridiculous things like that, it makes me question everything else you’re saying. How many other things that I don’t know about are you getting wrong or just being sloppy about? Please get some help editing and fact-checking your podcast.”
