Like talking with your smart friends
Ezra's stated purpose is to get beyond the "gotcha" talk you hear on most shows, where you try to prove a person wrong. Rather, he wants to understand everything from the interview-ee's point of view. So far, so good. I love shows like this. But what really makes this show unique is the way they get down into minutia, bit after bit. They do it in a friendly, casual manner, too. and not the usual crap. I love the Weeds - his policy podcast (which I highly recommend - it's refreshingly educational, multidimensional, and is like the opposite of cable news in every way). Mostly a puff piece. Ezra never really pushed back or probed. Long discussion of her Rhodes Scholar experience but dodged the question of how she was selected (she had left Stanford and then just amazingly she was awarded the scholarship?).
