“The episode titled “why counting macros isn’t a disorder” was so dangerous and irresponsible. Yes if somebody can healthily count macros that is not the same thing as having an eating disorder, however, many people with eating disorders start out by counting macros / calories or do count macros / calories as a method of control. Counting macros is still a disordered behavior for some. Further people unhealthily obsess over fitness after anorexia recovery as a more societally acceptable way to maintain control of their body sizes. This episode just validates people who are in there eating disorder that they don’t have a problem. It is absolutely fine to talk about fitness but eating disorders are so deadly and should be discussed as such. “Fit shaming” does not have the deadly consequences of eating disorders or fat shaming, as being fit allows a variety of privilege and power in a fit and thin obsessed society. These girls might have their own educational and therapeutic work to do before they use a platform to discuss issues like this.”
