Accessible and Interesting
The material and perspective are fascinating. Wyman's approach of taking the huge scope of the historical record and bringing it down to a human level works beautifully. I also appreciated his acknowledgment of some of the academic disputes. Having no background except an interest in history, it was interesting to hear how uncertain the interpretations of the historical record really are. I began the series in #3 and found it compelling. Very enjoyable & informative, looking forward to more episodes! Could maybe do with a bit of editing out of flubbed line reads/ sharp intakes of breath, but those are minor production quibbles. The content is outstanding.

The content is top notch here. You can tell Dr. Wyman knows his material well and comes well-researched. It appears this podcast will provide a fresh but legitimate perspective on the demise of the Roman Empire. There are parts of the first episode that are interesting to contrast with geopolitical events today.
