Consistently Excellent
I'm frequently surprised at just how much ground The Film Programme covers in 30 minutes. Francine Stock always asks detailed, specific questions of her guests, which means that there's a chance to learn something new rather than hearing the same old anecdotes and perspectives. I love how the guests are also invited to stay and give their take on other items in the programme, so we hear Terence Davies' take on Virtual Reality, or Rebecca Hall on Sundance. The programme also covers an admirable range of films, from mainstream new releases to undiscovered classics. I'd love to see what they could do with a bi-weekly or hour-long version.Read full review »
