Basically sort of entertaining
How entertaining you find this podcast lies largely in what age bracket you are in. The podcasters bring absolutely no talents or special credentials to the party (ie. film school, film experience, etc.) but rather are just some average Joe slacker, live-at-home, 20-somethings with loads of free time on their hands and light-weight opinions to spare. Much of the shows are taken up with a stunning amount of "ums" and "sort of's", and an insane number of adverbs -- "basically", "easily", "essentially". Adam Quigley is really the only one of the hosts really worth listening to and even there it's nothing to get too excited about. If you can get past these highly annoying (and frequent) mannerisms, much of the content of the show is what you'd expect eavesdropping on a trio of young Gen Y male slackers hanging out at the local street corner, blathering on about the latest movie or tv show upon which they're dedicating their tiny attention span, all the while thinking their random thoughts are deep, revealing insights into the world of movies, Hollywood, and geek entertainment. This is the age of blogs, Twitter, and MySpace, after all, where this upcoming generation has been digitally conditioned to think their every random thought is gold-plated wisdom that must be scattered throughout cyberspace to a thirsty audience of ravenous, devoted minions who hang on their every utterance. To sum up, essentially some sort of occassional interesting discussions but basically sort of broadly a waste of time and iPod space.Read full review »

More reviews of The Filmcast
The /filmcast is one of my favorite podcasts, definitely my favorite film podcast (and I listen to a lot). I've gotten a ton of insights into films, as well as recomendations, from them. Plus, the guests are usually pretty great. Highly Recommended!Read full review »

Good podcast, I enjoy how they invite their listeners to participate during their recording of the podcast. The podcast has a very nice flow to it. I do wish that the three hosts would expand their film knowledge. They talk about today's current movies, but I wish they would comment on...Read full review »

This is without a doubt my favorite entertainment podcast. I was lucky enough to catch David, Devindra, and Adam at the very beginning of their foray into film-related podcasting, and I've listened to (and watched) every episode they've done. Seeing them them grow into such amazingly fun...Read full review »
