Love this Podcast
I’ve enjoyed all the episodes; my favorites have been the mid-20s through 80s. In these, the hosts find sure footing (as backpackers *and* podcasters) and overflow with beginner’s enthusiasm — so fun! The show is so well-organized; the segments are insightful and very well-researched; and the entire show is wonderfully family-oriented/family-friendly, with a focus on cooperation, not competition. I love the hosts’ calm, kind voices, their careful enunciation (even the apparently divisive “main-te-nance”), and their earnest, goofy humor. TF40M is the perfect length, too! The show does include religious/LDS references; we’re not a religious family, but hey, exposure to different perspectives is good. In summer 2016 (around episode 92), TF40M began losing some of its early cheerfulness and positivity, which will please some listeners and not others. But shows and their hosts evolve, and no hosts can please all the people all the time. So Heather and Josh, do what makes you feel inspired and energized about creating the podcast, whether that’s keeping things just as they are, exploring new angles — or even taking a break or easing up on the weekly episode schedule (which is INCREDIBLE, given the high quality of the show and the fact that it is done for FREE)! Thanks for a great podcast! Wherever the podcasting journey takes TF40M, our family will follow along!

They do a great job of keeping things big picture while also give the useful details. I don’t get out and hike nearly as often as they do, but I like listening as an escape from the subway dark and dirty commute. As an East Coast gal, I can’t relate to a lot of what they say about weather and the...Read full review »
