Awesome and Sincere
I’m new to backpacking and was preparing for a trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone when I searched for related podcasts. I’m so thrilled I found the First 40 Miles because it really helped me prepare. If you’ve got a ton of experience, the content may be a bit simplistic for you but you will still enjoy the product reviews and sincerity with which the information is presented. I’ve already passed on the link to at least 10 of my friends who are “thinking” about getting into backpacking. Another great thing about the podcast is that they take the time to give you real show notes on their website. Since I listen while driving or walking, this resource has been awesome. Yes, they get a bit corny sometimes but I think it adds to the charm and I appreciate the lack of “slickness” in their presentation. Thanks for helping me through my first 40 miles…

This couple does an outstanding job hosting. They keep it informative, interesting and light hearted (very creative). And for a real treat check out the greatest ukulele/vocal rendition of Dont Fence Me In since Willie and Leon! It's in Episode entitled Mom's Advice. Keep up great work!Read full review »

I love these guys! They get me through work and fill me head with knowledge that I never would have thought about. I am a beginner and for the time being a solo backpacker.. So they help me out insanely, and they are always a joy to listen to!
