Funny, wise and affectionate
I came across Season 3 of this series by accident, and had to binge the whole season immediately. Then I went back to Seasons 1 and 2 and f found them just as captivating. Lorin Clarke, the writer and central performer, is John Clarke’s daughter, and has the same ability to describe familiar things in unexpected ways. In this series she describes her neighbourhood and its inhabitants in all their diverse glory, ultimately seeing the best in each of them. Well … apart from Luminous Ute Guy, that is! She’s brought them all to life so vividly that I can’t best to say goodbye. So I’m now just listening to all three seasons on rotation … I think I’m on my fourth time round now!
