My father’s story
Thank you for this. Hard to believe it has taken this long for more stories to be shared to the larger Jewish community outside of Israel, but I’m glad it’s happening more now. My father is an Iraqi Jew who went to Israel in 1951 and then the States in 1965. He was perhaps the first Hebrew to Arabic translator in Ben Gurion’s Knesset for the Arab delegates. Much of my family Exodus story is similar to what was shared in this podcast and my experiences are similar to Carol’s in terms of navigating the different boxes we are put in.
