What’s happened to The Forum? We used to hear expert discussion and now it’s at least half a call-in show with listeners. What a disappointment, but the archive is still available, thankfully.

The recent forum on Telling the time was quite interesting but did not cover the Chinese day, week, month, years. A huge oversight when the forum is usually careful to be not too westernised.

Mobile phones, deep fakes and pets isn’t exactly why I listen to this pod. Those topics seem better suited to other programmes. I’m missing famous historical figures, writers, politicians etc.

What I love about this show, is how I travel around the globe and visit mutiple eras in human history without moving from my home. I have learned so much I didn’t even know I wanted to know about. You simple MUST listen to the podcats about Cacao.

This program used to host academics talking about important historical figures. The latest episode has as a guest a pseudo-intellectual whose “expertise” appears to be “queering” Alexander of Macedon. Nope. Projection is not expertise, This just as creepy and off-putting as the mormons...Read full review »

Please remove the background noise/music. It is too loud, very distracting and frankly spoils an otherwise excellent production.

Knowledgeable adult conversation on history and other topics. No trendy bits. Along the lines of BBC’s “In Our Time.”

Generally speaking, this podcast is concise & differentiating when it comes to historical persons, eras, & is not conflating an oeuvre with anecdotal splotches of the author's biography. However, ever so often, you get curators' unchallenged views of "he used blue because he...Read full review »

Pleasant presenters who are inquisitive in all the right ways. One thing I appreciate is having no clue where they will be taking me each week until I press play.
