“We don’t need to know how smart and clever you are. Let your guests shine and give them space to talk. When you interviewed Dr. Schwartz, you talked WAY TOO MUCH. You would even interrupt his conversation with “um”, “yes”, and it’s like you were waiting for him to stop talking to start talking. Shut up and ask good questions and REALLY LISTEN. You don’t need to go off on this long monologue every time after he says something. How about asking another good open-ended question and then LISTENING? Very irritating. Giving your guests time to talk and don’t constantly overlay your commentary after they speak. This will provide your listeners with the best experience. If you want to talk all of the time, don’t interview guests.”
