Our farewell announcement & disability inclusion with Erin Kyan

Description
Our dear Revolters, there’s no easy way to say this, so here goes: The Gays Are Revolting will be going on an indefinite hiatus at the end of this month. We’ve had such an incredible time making this show and sharing not only our own stories, but the stories of the inspiring queer community members we’ve featured over the last two years. Today we released our 98th episode, and it’s been a dream from day one to hit 100. We’re pushing that number to 101, and we promise our last few episodes will be some of our best. It’s not goodbye forever, but it is farewell for now.  In this week’s episode, we discuss how the show has impacted our lives, as well as bring you an exceptional conversation with trans artist, poet, zine-maker and podcast-producer Erin Kyan, who chats to us about the experience of dating as a disabled person, how he continues to celebrate his body despite societal expectations, and how local queer nightlife venues can do better in disability inclusion. A must hear for any queer event producers! And in this week's After Show we're joined by Dylan O'Hara from Vixen Collective to discuss the fight to decriminalise sex work in Victoria and how the local queer sex work community has been impacted by COVID-19. To our Patrons, we hope you’ll join us for one final live stream on Thursday 20th of August (after we record our final episode). It’s your financial support that has helped us achieve over 100 episodes of The Gays Are Revolting, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your pink cash dollars.  Subscribe (for free!), rate and review The Gays Are Revolting on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Acast.  Follow The Gays Are Revolting on Twitter at @gaysrevolting, Facebook at The Gays Are Revolting & Instagram @gaysrevoltingpod.
