“Thank you, Gloria, for calling attention to the dangers of celebrity to our priests. Several years ago I started noticing how many priests in the media spotlight were falling. I cultivated a habit of praying for all priests and especially those with a big presence in the media, listing those I know by name. An individual priest falling into serious personal sin is tragic enough but for it to happen so publicly multiplies the damage and harms everyone in his sphere of influence.”
