“Yascha's clever and insightful questions to an amazing set of guests shine little shafts of light into the darker corners of todays democracy. Like a doctor taking an ill patient's history the show takes us on an investigative journey into the the political malaise we all feel.
The Podcast has helped me see that the past definitions of left and right, Greater government vs greater individualism -- Democratic vs Republican in the US, is instead an argument between aknowledged complexity and simple action. Statistical analysis vs clear anecdotal example.
So getting back to the medical analogy -- people are rebelling against the complicated FDA approved drug system with all their disclosed side effects and instesd opting for holistic natural remedies that worked foer someone. In the case of medicine they are generally saved by their Doctor when they get sick enough. In the case of Trump, Brexit and Bibi Neteyahu they are still putting their faith in strong simple messages over a more murky path in a better direction.
