A bit revisionist in last episode
We tend to make the dead saints. This was what I thought when I heard the last episode. Rob drove drunk, he attacked and maligned people, he drank during work hours, he was homophobic and embraced racist rhetoric., he hung out with drug dealers. His antics held the city hostage for far too long. Not much could get accomplished at City Hall. He tried to cancelled projects, initiatives that he hated . The last episode interviewed family members and tried to rewrite Rob’s story as one of a sad man with a drinking problem. Rob was indeed an Addict near the end. But he was always a bully antagonist from his beginning days at City Hall. If Rob had hit and killed someone on his late night intoxicated Escalade drives, would we still put him on a pedestal? I’d hope not. I’d have preferred a look into how the system failed to stop an out of control politician. the silence and look the other way approach by police. And how a city like Toronto, with all its divsersity, voted in someone like Ford, and how it all was almost a weird mirror image of the rise of Trump

Fantastic podcast! I love the storytelling and facts. It is an unimaginable story but backed up with facts, interviews, and documents.

What a shame, this is what news agencies do to get clicks. Slag a dead man for his struggles, sad really.
