A good look inside the Ford family way.

This podcast has superb editing and story telling - it keeps you interested the whole way through and shows many sides of the complex character that is Rob Ford. I always had a really negative perspective on Rob Ford but when I watched the Jimmy Kimmel episode way back when, I felt bad for Rob...Read full review »

An incredible view from the inside of one of the more surprising campaigns of the last decade. In hindsight, that victory was eerily indicative of things to come.

I was somewhat skeptical at first, simply because I thought that this would turn into “screw Trump” podcast via the comparisons they were making. Now, don’t get me wrong I love those podcasts as much as the next person. But I wanted something new to listen to. The Gravy Train, has turned into...Read full review »

Great series

One of the best podcasts I have listened to this year. The story of Rob Ford is such more than the headlines grabbing ‘crack smoking’ mayor. This podcast has made me laugh and cry in equal measures over the last few weeks. Please, please listen to this podcast.

Absolutely LOVE THIS! Super informative. My only complaint, it seems to skip, A lot.

Great work showing the complexities of this man, as well as the zeitgeist in which he found himself and benefited from. I’m left feeling how incredibly strange that such a prescient moment in history occurred in the otherwise fairly predictable town in which I live.

So good to hear all of this in one place for the first time since hearing it day-by-day as it happened.

What a story what a man what a flare. A story about a man that was not perfect. Thank God. Sweat stains, bragging and smoking all sorts of illegal substances. This podcast is SO well done.

As a Toronto outsider looking in, the Rob Ford saga was genuinely hilarious, disgraceful and embarrassing. I’m not sure if we should praise the man for figuring out a way to weaponize populism to get elected or to admonish the people who actually voted for him being completely ambivalent towards...Read full review »

Having lived through those crazy times this provided some great insight. At the time I thought there was some bias against Ford. Hearing about the time, effort and repeated verification of sources, and evidence from trials it was eye opening. It reminds me that qualifications are more...Read full review »

Had this recommended to me by a friend and once I started listening I couldn’t stop. As someone who was far too young to be following the news cycle at the time these events were unfolding, listening to this pod was jaw dropping. The host and team are fantastic, they tell the story in such a...Read full review »

Honestly very enthralling and engaging, I was never bored. The story of Rob Ford and his fam is it’s own special grey area and this pod is incredibly successful at showing all angles of his life, for you to judge and/or sympathize with. It feels important to know, given how much political pigs of...Read full review »

Provides a very good portrayal of this period in politics and some great insight into the actual person behind the scandals.

Ya, Rob was a train wreck but I’d almost forgotten how much of a train wreck he was till I listened to this podcast. It definitely does the white sympathy thing, but it’s still riveting.

I was just finishing university and a few provinces away during the Rob Ford period. I remember being interested in it but not fully getting it. This podcast kept me captivated and helped fill the gaps in what I missed years ago.

I read a lot of reviews saying this was very partisan, so I was going to steer clear of it... But I feel this captures the Ford era with a lot of truth and empathy! Binged it in a day, and I think it's a must listen for anyone, especially Torontonians!Read full review »

I'm not saying I ever agreed with a single policy Rob put in place, but what an amazing hilarious problematically loveable guy. The only issue with this podcast is the editorial staff clearly dislike the Fords, so the tone is very dark and regretful, which is a far cry from the mood of...Read full review »

Really well done. They somehow make Rob Ford into a sympathetic character in the end. The story is told in a respectful and not sensational way. Great work!

Wow, I was very young when all of this was happening so I vaguely remember what was going on. He was totally crazy, but it was interesting to listen to everything that actually happened. 5/5 on the research and quality of the podcast. Great job guys 👍

This was really well done. Thank you. And I see some negative comments about Jordan’s slow narration but I think it’s perfect. It’s easy to speed up the playback if you need to.

I was a high school and then university student, living first in Ottawa and then in Toronto during the time the Rob Ford drama unfolded. It hasn’t been too long since the Rod Ford debacle and I should be amazed at how much the forgot about this era of politics, but with how the news cycle flips from story to story, I am not surprised. Listen to this and how it brilliantly it covers this point in history.

The Rob Ford story is almost unbelievable. This podcast tells the story with so much information so you understand it - well laid out and set out in good sized episodes. Very much enjoyed it!

Captures the hubris & pathos of Rob Ford’s political life and humanizes this deeply flawed man. There’s also implicit criticism of the media’s role in building and tearing down demagogues. Great listen, highly recommend.

Great storytelling, impeccably produced. I lived in Toronto during the Ford saga and was still drawn in and enthralled by the way they’ve reconstructed the events and their thoughtful approach to the material.
