Back To The '80's
Looking back, I wish I had played more RPG's in the 1980's. A handful of games both of Traveller and D&D turned out to be all I played. I did own the James Bond RPG and Mercenaries Spies and PI's, but I ended up more immersed in wargames. Consequently, it was the excellent Meeples & Miniatures podcast that put me onto the Grognard Files. (I've also got Space 1889 somewhere, what a great rule Book!) What a nostalgia trip has ensued! Naturally I particularly enjoyed the spy orientated episodes as I love the genre, and who can argue with the views expressed about Caroline Munro, as another whose first experience of Bond in the cinema was "The Spy Who Loved Me". A great podcast for anyone who remembers playing RPG's or even wargaming shops in the '80's. Otherwise, you probably won't have a clue what is going on!Read full review »

I seriously have to ration this podcast as its equisitely scripted nostalgia takes a lot of time to craft. If only these guys could go pro and release one a week I would be in heaven.

Well not really. A great trip down senility street, yet with its jaundiced eye firmly fixed on the horizon. All of the games are reviewed with humour and warmth. Whilst playing the podcast where my wife could overhear, she burst out ‘I can’t believe they’ve spent time thinking so deeply about...Read full review »
