Thoughtful, warm, and inspiring: a community in your headphones
Can’t believe that is around 5.5 years since first listened to Dirk, Blythy and Ed. The podcast, the presenters, the friends and supporters of the show, and the Grogmeet events have become a huge part of my life and a constant source of pleasure and delight. My own deep freeze came to end in 2007 and the show has helped propel me even further into the hobby and to reflect back on gaming in the 80s, as well as explore new things. I enjoy Dirk’s interviews with RPG writers and am a big fan of the discussions he has with ‘judge’ Blythy - there is a certain Reeves and Mortimer (Morecambe and Wise?) quality with the catchphrases and structure of the episodes which I particularly enjoy. Clever, thoughtful, and warm. Highly recommended,

More reviews of The GROGNARD Files
Not just a funny nostalgia trip through early RPGs, it's also a passionate and very thoughtful discussion of tabletop gaming, but done in an easy and comfortable way. Can't reccomend it highly enough.Read full review »
