Pass the hobnobs...
The Grognard Files is my favourite podcast by far. Dirk and his cohorts capture perfectly the experience of playing roleplaying games in 1980's Britain, and nicely counterpoint their adolescent viewpoints with their adult perspective. I'm transported back to those joyous days of seemingly never-ending summer holidays playing games with my friends. Don't be fooled, though. It's not all nostalgia. If you have ever played any of the featured games, you'll be rewarded with a new perspective on the games of yore and new revelations aplenty. At time of writing, the latest episode features Golden Heroes, a game i've played on and off for thirty plus years. I thought I knew this game inside out but I discovered several facts about the games creation and rules that I knew nothing about. All in all it's the podcast that I must listen to as soon as it drops each month. Long may it continue.Read full review »

Podcast based on 1980s Northern English RPG nostalgia, well-delivered with self-deprecating humour. Excellent.
