A great idea, utterly ruined by the hosts interruptions
As a survivor of repeated rape and sexual assault I am keenly interested in the Harvey Weinstein trial. Weinstein deserves a fair and impartial trial. I want to hear it all. The producer’s idea to reproduce the court records for the public’s hearing is brilliant one. So why do the hosts of this podcast think they have any right, reason, justification or responsibility to interrupt the court proceedings to offer their own clearly biased, running commentary of their own opinions about the case? Who are they and why should I have to listen to their efforts to subtlety sway their listener’s point of view? Survivors of sexual abuse should be warned before listening. It was difficult enough for me to listen to the court proceedings; then to realize early on that the hosts who had invited me and my trauma (and the trauma of all survivors listening) in to their “living room” had no clue of my survivor experience or reality and then assumed that their obviously uneducated opinions against Weinstein's victims were somehow of value was too much to stomach. There is nothing fair or impartial about this podcast. I recommend reading the classics by Dr. Anna Salter “Predators” and Dr. Judith Herman “Trauma and Recovery” and Dr.Jennifer Freyd’s “Trauma and Betrayal” before assuming any level of knowledge that gives credibility to ones opinions about the sexual violence trial of the century.Read full review »

Can you please fill us in a bit about why these different whitnesses are chosen. Why would the prosecution use Jessica Mann when she quite obviously was in a relationship with him?

The testimony itself is enthralling and highly disturbing. I appreciate the coverage and will continue to listen throughout the duration of the trial. The commentary, however, is a bit unnerving. There is a fair amount of victim blaming - the victims are chastised by the hosts for continuing to...Read full review »
