If David has to do ads for Telus, perhaps telling us how they’ve “lowered fees” and made great sacrifice isn’t the way to go. This company got all it’s infrastructure from AGT, has been charging the highest fees for cellular in the world and is showing no signs of not trying to monopolize its...Read full review »

Brian Topp and Kory made fascinating an election many east of Manitoba might ignore. Herle Burly always brings the A game

I listen faithfully to the Curse and the Burly, but this bit you have going with Keith Boag leading up the the American election is intolerable. Boag offers nothing but seven minutes of Trump Derangement Syndrome. His takes are nothing that you couldn’t read on Twitter any day. I have tried to...Read full review »

I enjoy the show quite a bit - solid host that asks provocative questions, leans into fairness in spite of his political heritage and retains a great sense of humour about it all. Love the focus on Canadian politics and the quality of most guests is very high. I’ve been tempted to write for...Read full review »

I’ve been a subscriber for around 2 years. Most of the time, the interviews are interesting enough and the incessant charm offensive by Mr Herle is cute as he proves a little here and there. On the episode with the Israeli ambassador however, it was all charm and no pushback at all. Israel is...Read full review »

I love both your podcasts and I’m now following hotel Pacifico which is equally great. I grew up in Ontario and now live in BC. I’ve been a swing voter all my life and served in the military for over 30 years. I voted for Mulroney in part because of his policies towards climate action and defense...Read full review »

I’m an avid podcast listener of various genres. I appreciate the thoughtful content enough that I endure the annoyingly lengthy sponsorship ads. I was compelled to write this review because as I was listening to the interview on the Care Economy, at the 32 minute mark, I had a visceral...Read full review »

Overall, I love the podcast! However, lately the Telus and CN rail propaganda has become a little too much. One of the ad’s was very anti-passenger rail. It would be interesting to hear some folks from the Canadian rail industry face off against passenger rail advocates on the pod.

I’m a new fan. Part of my week. Dave’s laugh cracks me up

If you’re looking for the interview that gets and gives the goods of who is being interviewed, Herle does it up very well. My only complaint is very loud opening riff.

As I listened to the Liberal Leader candidates, I couldn’t help but realize that Ford would never be able to participate in such a conversation. Very proud of the qualifications, academic and professionally, these candidates bring to the table.

I appreciate David and the way he forms questions and thoughts with out the roses and rainbows we have become accustomed to with the current government. I find the show to be politically balanced and offering great insight from all sides of the aisle. Keep up the great work. Nathan the...Read full review »

When interviewing a politician, there is no accountability, no questions that require details and David just lets them speak their talking points.

Good job grabbing some independent media sources to round out this conversation. I was literally debating about suggesting getting Jesse Brown for your show, but you made it so I didn’t have to.

Really enjoyed the series on the media. My goodness, a little of Jesse Brown is a lot. I stuck it out to the end because I’m a loyal listener.

What an absorbing and thorough look at the dilemma in Canadian journalism, David. Thank you and your insightful guests. My only quibble: unless I missed it, I don’t think anyone mentioned Canada’s National Observer, for my money one of the best written, best reported news sources available today....Read full review »

Strongly recommend the late June 2023 interview of Perrin Beatty. It’s a helpful insight into the views of the Chamber of Commerce. But also a reminder of how politicians from an earlier era managed a more civilized debate. Thanks, David for finding centrists who have a real contribution to make!

I listen to the podcasts on the weekends, usually while cooking or driving around. Great guests who are interviewed by the funny and insightful David Herle.
