A traditional approach is not necessarily a good one
Disappointing that Hillsdale has taken this path with history courses, more in the nature of propaganda than education. I'm particularly discouraged when literalist readings are applied to ancient texts that are fake news, clearly corrupt and meant to deceive. Classics can be valuable for instruction on reading and misreading, but they require considerable understanding of Egyptian as well as Greek and Latin, and also knowledge of preclassical African history as well as classical European. Let tourist businesses overseas promote myths and lies about the past. It is the purpose of higher education to stimulate pursuit of the truth. Hillsdale College has some great content but it’s important to note that they have a clear conservative bias.
