I'm willing to overlook technical problems with a new podcast, and the sound quality was much better in the subsequent episodes. The Ingalls podcasts were more interesting, possibly because the material was new to me, unlike the Marie Antoinette story. The only problem I have with this pocast is the pretty much the same one I have with that other history podcast presented by women (and I am a woman, probably old enough to be the mother or grandmother of the podcast presenters.) Please, please, please, do not giggle and laugh constantly! If you make a joke, or there's something really laugh-out-loud funny, then by all means laugh, and I'll be laughing too. So far the History Chicks are less guilty of this than the always-snickering women who present that other podcast, and that's all good. One other thing - there was a bit too much personal history presented, at least for my taste. When you're doing your 150th podcast, and I really feel I know you, that might be less jarring and even good. But at this point, in a new podcast, please stick to the material and keep the personal anecdotes to a minimum. It's more professional, and I am all about women being professional in a professional setting. For what's worth, there are a number of male podcasters who are pretty bad about this too, but we women have to be better than them, don't we? Anyway, good job overall and I'm looking forward to the next episode!Read full review »

Excellent! I look forward to each new cast... I only wish the sound quality were better and the episodes more frequent. Overall though, great job of finally giving notable historical women the interesting and detailed overview they deserve.

A very entertaining first podcast. Entertaining and witty. The podcast was much better than the rapidly declining Stuff You Missed in History Class. Looking forward to Episode Two. Give it a chance, everyone!!
