Interesting and fresh
An interesting take on historical women through women's perspective. I like it better than stuff you missed in history class, but there are some technical things that could be better- namely, equalization between the two mics, maybe a normalization filter on it. As for content, I've only listened to the first show, but I find it hard to believe that Marie Antoinette could be seen in a light of total innocence. There was an air between the two hosts that she was a country girl who didn't know any better (that perhaps she didn't even know about conception). Even after she was queen, the two seemed to purport her innocence, all the way up to the beheading. Ultimately, History is a matter of opinion, of whose research you want to believe, but it's hard for me to swallow such a rosy picture of such a notorious figure. Still, I'm going to stay tuned in, to see what comes next.Read full review »

Love The History Chicks! They have a great conversational style - it feels like you are sitting with your best friends. And great content ! I'm not exactly a history buff but I could learn a lot (and enjoy it!) from Beckett and Susan. Looking forward to the next podcast.Read full review »
