Great for beginners
I was completely ignorant about the history of China. Never read anything about it except for a few Wikipedia pages. This podcast is perfect for someone totally unfamiliar with Chinese history such as myself. Episodes are about 30 minutes which I like. Yes, the names and geography is confusing to a native English speaker such as myself, but that certainly isn't he hosts fault. I'm able to follow along for the most part. I doubt this podcast is much help to a graduate student writing a thesis on the Warring States period. However, considering I had never heard of the Warring States Period before this podcast, I really enjoy each and every episode.Read full review »

The fact that Chinese names are so difficult to distinguish really disadvantages this podcast, the fact that the narrator has chosen this topic, means he's fairly courageous or passionate, or both. Subscribed and eargerly looking foward to future episodes.Read full review »
