“As an aspiring Egyptologist in my second semester this podcast is a dream come true. It goes into so much detail while still not losing sight of the "big picture".
Egyptian society and culture and religion are so complex to us today but the host manages to explain the concepts well while staying true to the nuances and perspectives.
I also greatly appreciate the sources and book recommendations; amazing way to find good literature to go deeper into a topic.
And it doesn't only focus on the kings and the upper 1% that is usually the only thing people talk about; I love the views into the actual people's lives and ideas and habits and believes apart from the "state theology".
And the host is just so nice. He seems so kind, literally giving us all this information for free, and has great modern perspectives, and to be honest he's also just super funny.
